The Code runs first workshops in schools
Since The Code launched back in January, over 400 of our people have signed up to help inspire young people about our industry which is great! Over the last month we’ve been busy training 120 people on all they need to know about working with schools and how to deliver the content for the workshops.
Our first school engagements officially kicked off at the beginning of the month with over 35 people going into schools across the UK to deliver a digital media taster session to year 9 students. Students learnt about our network and capabilities, the importance of brand and impact and had an insight into the various advertising channels we use in our industry. Students then got the chance to work on a brief to create a campaign to launch a new app for Adidas.
Feedback so far has been positive from volunteers, students and teachers. Here’s some of their comments…
Anam Khan, Research Executive “We had an absolutely amazing time – genuinely was one of the highlights of my whole time working here and I think the students and the teacher absolutely loved it!”
A Teacher: Mr. Symon Quy, Professional Tutor, Head of Media, Stockley Academy said “I just wanted to send a HUGE THANK YOU to you for today’s workshop. The students learned so much from your presentation and really enjoyed the brief and pitch activities. A MASSIVE pat on the back from Stockley for all your hard work today!!”
The young people: have described the workshop in one word, here are some of their responses: “Inspiring”, “amazing”, “valuable”, “Creative”, Eye-opening”, “Fun”
By the end of March, we would have been to 40 schools across the UK and given back over 1,000 hours to schools.
